Eat it to beat it (Shake Shack and Action Against Huger!)
It often feels as though September comes around and everything is not only pumpkin flavoured but scented too. Having lived across the pond for a few years it rubbed off and truth be told, I am the archetypal basic B. I love me a pumpkin spice latte. I have a pumpkin and spiced apple candle burning brightly in my kitchen. Hell, I even made a pumpkin risotto earlier today. Spoiler alert, children will not eat this. Something they will eat however, is the Shake Shake. This year, for the first time ever the glorious chain has realised a pumpkin shake.
The best Milkshake known to man…
The shake features real pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, marshmallow and a whipped cream topping. Garnished with toasted pumpkin seeds. What could be better? Well, I’ll top it. This is the 7th year that the Shack have teamed up with Action Against Hunger to bring the Annual Great British Shake sale, for their Love food Give Food campaign. During this period (from the 1st October till 10th November) guests who donate £2.00 or more in store or through online ordering will receive a voucher (redeemable on their next visit) which entitles them to a hand-spun shake. Talk about a worthy cause!
Fries before…anything else.
Have y’all tried these crinkle cut fries topped with bacon, tangy sour cream chive and spring onions? Because you should. They are completely divine.
My visit was absolutely seamless. We chose the Covent Garden branch and sat outside. The staff is more than happy to take orders and light outside heaters for the naturally cold amongst us (me!). I ate my usual a shake meister (cheeseburger with crispy ale marinated shallots). I then added a side of fries and topped it off with a hand spun milkshake on the side. Just when I thought life couldn’t be more fulfilling I scarfed down a pumpkin pie concrete. Frozen custard blended with a slice of pumpkin pie. Yes, people. Your dreams have come true.
Get ’em while they’re here!
