September is here, bringing with it one of my favourite events of the year: Tequila and Mezcal Fest! For one weekend only, 17th-18th September, hoards of the world's best tequila and mezcal producers (and 3000 drinkers!) descend on London to showcase their spirits, and to show the very best of all things Mexico!
We love Tequila Fest at FoodGoblin – I've attended all three years and had the best time ever at each one. This year it's in a brand new and bigger venue – The Boiler House at the Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. Patrón Tequila is partnering it and alongside the producers showcasing their spirits, there's a whole host of masterclasses and seminars. In short, it is set to be insane.
Let's get one thing straight though now…this isn't about downing as many crap quality shots as you can fit in your face. Tequila Fest is for learning about this fabulous, often misunderstood category, soaking in Mexican culture and enjoying a few sips of the world's best tequilas and mezcals.
